3 early goals for Eagles second-year running back Miles Sanders

The Philadelphia Eagles managed to narrowly win the NFC East during the 2019 season. A key factor in that success was the emergence of rookie running back Miles Sanders.

With a significant lack of production from the Eagles’ receivers, it was paramount they received a strong impact out of the backfield. Sanders answered by recording one of the more impressive rookie campaigns in team history.

Sanders surpassed DeSean Jackson for the most scrimmage yards by a rookie in franchise history when he hit the 1,008 yards mark in mid-December. He didn’t stop there as he ended with 1,327 scrimmage yards.

The next step for Sanders will be to build off his impressive performance and not allow himself to experience a sophomore slump. It appears he is set to receive the opportunity to do exactly that as he ‘is entrenched atop the depth chart’ at running back.
