Zack Baun
More and more teams are beginning to search for versatile players to insert into their defense. If you’re a defender that can rush the passer, stop the run, and play in coverage, you have a spot in the NFL.
The one edge defender that is capable of doing all of those things is Zack Baun. Coming out of Wisconsin, Baun is at his best when he is moved around in a defense, letting him utilize his unique skill set. A decent pro comparison for Baun would be Kyle Van Noy.
While he isn’t the most athletic or powerful player, Baun makes up for it with his impressive football IQ. To finish his collegiate career, Baun tallied 12.5 sacks, 19.5 tackles for loss, an interception, and two forced fumbles.
If the Seahawks selected Baun with the No. 27 pick, he would likely spend the majority of his time rushing the passer. On the other hand, the ability to move him around could be a valuable asset for Seattle’s defense.
