3 intriguing prospects the Cowboys should target in the third round

The NFL Draft is a prime opportunity for teams to add talented young prospects to their team to help undertake a rebuild or to help re-tool a roster. For the Dallas Cowboys, they will be seeking to re-tool and maximize their chances of winning the NFC East in 2020.

Managing to add contributors in the NFL Draft is important given the tight salary cap landscape the Cowboys will be facing for the near-future after re-signing all their key players. Having cheap contributors for at least the length of the rookie contract would go a long way.

During the upcoming NFL Draft, the Cowboys will have the 17th, 51st, 82nd, 123rd, 164th, 179th, and 231st selections. They didn’t have a first-round selection last year due to the Amari Cooper trade and having it will help to dictate what needs to be done with the other selections.

The Cowboys will look to select prospects that can make a greater immediate impact than their 2019 class. They came away with Trysten Hill, Connor McGovern, Tony Pollard, Michael Jackson, Joe Jackson, Donovan Wilson, Mike Weber, and Jalen Jelks in last year’s draft.

With that being said, there are three intriguing prospects the Cowboys should target with the No. 82 selection in the 2020 NFL Draft.
