3 players the Minnesota Vikings should try to trade for this offseason

When the Minnesota Vikings signed Kirk Cousins to a three-year, fully-guaranteed $84 million deal, they put themselves in a clear win-now window with a perceived upgrade over Case Keenum under center. Entering the final year of that deal, the team still carries those expectations after making the playoffs and winning a postseason game last season.

The Vikings currently sit with the lowest amount of salary cap space in the NFL (via Over The Cap.com). So they are necessarily limited in what they can do this offseason, even with cuts, contract extensions and restructures to lessen cap hits. They won’t be major players in free agency.

But the trade market might be a different story. With some targeted areas to upgrade, dealing future draft picks to supplement the 2020 roster has to be on general manager Rick Spielman’s radar to some degree.
