3 reasons Denzel Mims would be a great pick for the Eagles at No. 21

The Philadelphia Eagles struggled badly with insufficient production from the wide receiver position last season. That’s why they’ve routinely been linked to prospects at this spot in the NFL Draft; now, including Denzel Mims out of Baylor.

When asked about which teams he’s spoken to the most throughout the NFL pre-draft prospect, the Eagles were the first team he mentioned. While that isn’t an exact indicator that Philadelphia has expressed the most interest, they’re at least in the mix.

“(It’s) hard to say. The Eagles, the Bills, the Bears, Colts, the Jets, Cowboys, Rams and the Titans,” Mims told The Matt Mosley Show. “I’ve been getting a lot of calls lately. Now I’m just trying to see who’s going to draft me, but I may get drafted by a team I never even talked to at all. I’m just trying to be patient and see where I end up at.”

The original expectation was that Mims’ stock was that of a second-round prospect. While he still very well could end up being selected in that round, he has seemingly gained momentum as a potential first round selection.

Mims capped off his collegiate career with an incredible 2019 season with Baylor. In 13 appearances, he recorded 66 receptions, 1,020 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns. His final campaign resulted in career totals of 186 receptions, 2,925 receiving yards, and 28 touchdowns.

With that being said, there are three reasons Denzel Mims would be a great pick for the Eagles at No. 21.
