Fill more seats with added star power

It’s no secret the Chargers have struggled to fill the stands in a 30,000-seat stadium. With their upcoming move to LA Stadium in Hollywood Park, they’re going to need to have more appeal to casual fans to want to come to their games to fill the significantly greater capacity.

Another issue for the Chargers has been some opposing fan bases significantly outnumbering the home crowd, resulting in the atmosphere feeling more like a road game. This was an issue at Qualcomm Stadium at times, but it has only worsened in Los Angeles.

A former NFL MVP like Cam Newton would be a great way to get fans into the building as Tyrod Taylor doesn’t necessarily have much for star power. If the risk were to pay off, it could translate to actual team success and that only helps, too.
