3 reasons the Redskins should be ecstatic about Dwayne Haskins in 2020

The Washington Redskins have been searching for a long-term answer at the quarterback position for quite some time. The player that is next up to earn that role Dwayne Haskins.

After being selected by the Redskins with the No. 15 pick in the NFL Draft, Haskins appeared in nine games as a rookie with seven being starts. He completed 58.6% of his pass attempts resulting in 1,365 yards, seven touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

The current expectation is that Haskins will be the starter for the Redskins during Week 1 of the regular season. That should put to rest any preseason talks from outsiders about the possibility of Kyle Allen being given that spot.

There was speculation at one point regarding the Redskins possibly using the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on Tua Tagovailoa. Instead, they went with Chase Young to continue to put together an impressive front-seven on defense.

With that being said, here are three reasons the Redskins should be ecstatic about Dwayne Haskins heading into the 2020 season.
