The Pittsburgh Steelers are excited for the 2020 NFL season after struggling in 2019 following the loss of starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. While they are excited to get the longtime face of their franchise back on the field, they also need to begin preparing for their future without him.

At 38 years old, age has been taking a toll on Roethlisberger. He has been banged up a lot throughout his career and it is catching up to him. The elbow injury he suffered last season should be a major concern moving forward too.

Obviously, the Steelers do not need to panic to replace Big Ben this offseason. However, it would not be a bad decision to pick a quarterback up that could start if the price is right.

Jameis Winston is still sitting in NFL free agency waiting for a team to come calling. He had been wanting around $30 million per year in his new deal, but that price will come down in a big way. If it gets low enough, the Steelers should absolutely think about picking him up.

All of that being said, let’s take a look at three reasons the Steelers should take a risk on signing Winston.
