2. A Legitimate Backup Is Desperately Needed

Let’s not act like it is a sure thing that Roethlisberger will come back at 100 percent. As we just mentioned, neither Rudolph or Hodges are the guys that the Steelers will want filling in for him if he doesn’t come back at 100 percent.

Mike Tomlin needs a guy who can come in and help the team win football games. Winston’s turnover issues are well-known, throwing 30 interceptions last season with the Buccaneers. But, he would still be a better option for the Steelers than Rudolph or Hodges.

Winston would be able to come in if called upon and keep the Steelers’ offense dangerous. He may drive fans and coaches crazy with his decision-making at times, but his talent is obvious and worth a shot.
