3 teams who should consider trading down in the NFL Draft

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta Falcons

For a team like the Atlanta Falcons that lacks much for salary cap space and has lots of areas to improve, trading down early in the NFL Draft is a good idea. There is still plenty of work that needs to be done when it comes to bolstering their defense, in particular.

While prospects like C.J. Henderson and K’Lavon Chaisson would certainly be attractive options for the Falcons if available, adding more draft assets to move down could be more beneficial. There are talented prospects that will be available later in the order.

There are still options for the Falcons to bolster their pass rush or coverage after moving down. That’s why it’s quite logical for Atlanta to at least explore this kind of a deal. Doing so could help them become a slightly more complete team for the 2020 season.
