NFL Analysis Nework

The San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets squared off with each other in Week 2 of the 2020 NFL season. Facing little resistance, the reigning NFC champions coasted their way to a 31-13 victory, but did not escape free of injuries to key players.

The 49ers didn’t take long to find the end-zone. In fact, it occurred on their first snap on offense as Raheem Mostert took off for an 80-yard touchdown. San Francisco failed to score again in the first period, but managed to put up 14 points before halftime — establishing a 21-3 lead.

Both the 49ers and Jets managed to post identical per quarter scoring figures. They each had three points apiece in the third period and scored just one touchdown in the final frame.

By pulling off the victory, the 49ers avoided falling to an 0-2 start to the season. San Francisco will be back at MetLife Stadium in Week 3 for a matchup with the Giants. Meanwhile, the Jets are now 0-2 and appear set to have a terrible season.

With that being said, let’s take a look at four major takeaways from the San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Jets matchup in Week 2 of the 2020 NFL season.
