“I fully expect to be extended this offseason. I want to be in New York!”, is what Jamal Adams of the New York Jets tweeted back in January. Despite his burning desire to continue his career with the Jets, Adams and New York have reached an impasse in contract talks recently.
As a result, many believe that the Jets could be inclined to begin listening to trade offers for Adams. With that being said, New York has made it clear that they would prefer to keep Adams since he still has two years left on his rookie contract — given the fact they exercised his fifth-year option for 2021.
At the same time, it remains to be seen how Adams reacts to the Jets not fulfilling his aspirations of signing an extension with the team this offseason. Could the All-Pro safety force his way out of New York if the team refuses to give him an extension?
In the event that New York begins listening to offers for Adams, the other 31 teams in the NFL should be making inquiries about him. But when you think about it, only a few teams make sense when it comes to acquiring his services. With that in mind, let’s take a look at 5 teams that are logical fits if the Jets choose to trade Adams.
