Mitchell Trubisky and the Chicago Bears are one of the unknown teams looking ahead to the upcoming 2020 NFL season. After being a legitimate contender back in 2018, the Bears missed the playoffs and looked rough, to say the least, last season. Now, they are hoping that they can get back into contention in the stacked NFC North.
A huge part of their troubles last season were at the quarterback position. Trubisky simply wasn’t getting the job done.
During the 2019 season, Trubisky ended up completing 63.2 percent of his passes for 3,138 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Those numbers simply aren’t going to get the job done for a team that has Super Bowl aspirations.
Chicago did make a bold move this offseason to address the quarterback struggles. They brought in veteran quarterback Nick Foles via a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars. If Trubisky struggles, Matt Nagy will not hesitate to hand the keys to Foles.
All of that being said, let’s take a look at three numbers that Trubisky should be targeting heading into the season.
