Kelvin Beachum, LT, New York Jets
While Andrew Whitworth is expected to re-sign with the Rams this offseason, it’s important to at least think about backup plans. One player that would be a logical replacement is Kelvin Beachum.
It’s true that Beachum isn’t one of the NFL’s top left tackles. However, he is a productive player that can produce respectable results. He is coming off a 2019 season where he was a part of 604 pass-blocking plays and allowed 28 QB pressures, three QB hits, and three sacks.
The priority for the Rams should certainly be to try bringing Whitworth back. There would be a noticeable step back in the results they achieve by going from Whitworth to Beachum, but that’s why it’s considered a backup plan.
