Chargers listed as potential free agency destination for Ryan Tannehill

Ryan Tannehill had a major breakout season with the Tennessee Titans in 2019 after taking over the starting job from Marcus Mariota. He led the team all the way to the AFC Championship Game, where they fell to the Kansas City Chiefs. Now, he is set to hit the free agency market.

Bleacher Report took a look at potential landing spots for Tannehill. They came up with an interesting team who is in the market for a quarterback. That team would be the Los Angeles Chargers.

Los Angeles made the tough decision to part ways with longtime quarterback Philip Rivers. Currently, they have Tyrod Taylor as the best starting option on their roster. They could decide to stick with Taylor, but signing a guy like Tannehill would make a lot more sense.

Last season with the Titans, Tannehill played in 12 games. He completed a sizzling 70.3 percent of his pass attempts for 2,742 yards, 22 touchdowns, and just six interceptions.

After years of struggling to stay healthy with the Miami Dolphins, Tannehill is finally showing the potential that made him the No. 8 overall pick back in the 2012 NFL Draft.

If the Chargers were to sign Tannehill, they would likely have to give him a four-year contract. Some would view it as a risk with his track record, but others would give him a chance to continue proving himself.

Expect to see quite a few teams consider pursuing Tannehill this offseason. Tennessee may make a move to sign Tom Brady and if they do that, Tannehill will be looking for a new home. The Chargers would certainly make a lot of sense.
