Chicago Bears have interest in Baylor WR Denzel Mims

The Chicago Bears struggled mightily on offense during the 2019 NFL season and have been working to improve it this offseason. Nick Foles was acquired from the Jacksonville Jaguars to push Mitchell Trubisky and Jimmy Graham was signed in free agency after being released by the Green Bay Packers.

Now, it appears that the Bears may have some level of interest in adding a wide receiver in the 2020 NFL Draft. There is one intriguing target that they have shown some level of interest in.

Reports have revealed that the Bears have had a FaceTime interview with Baylor standout wideout Denzel Mims.

Mims would be an intriguing target for the Bears in the NFL Draft. He had a huge combine and has been rising up draft boards ever since. Many believe he will end up being a late first round pick or an early second round selection.

Chicago does not have a pick until No. 43 overall. Their first-round pick is still owed to the Las Vegas Raiders from the trade to acquire Khalil Mack.

Last season at Baylor, Mims caught 66 passes for 1,020 yards and 12 touchdowns. Those numbers show the kind of potential that he possesses. The Bears would be wise to take him if he happens to be available.

The Bears could also be considering trying to trade up in the draft to acquire talent. Trading up to the late stages of the first round would likely be the way to get Mims. However, if he slips to the second round, they should absolutely consider an aggressive move up.

Expect to see the Bears look to add an offensive weapon or two in the NFL Draft. Mims seems like an intriguing target and they do have some level of interest. This could be something to keep an eye on.
