Chiefs listed as potential free agency landing spot for Emmanuel Sanders

The Kansas City Chiefs could be moving on from veteran wide receiver Sammy Watkins this offseason. Should they choose to do so, they could be in the market for a replacement. That replacement could come in the form of veteran wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders in free agency.

Sanders is set to hit the free agency market as one of the top wide receivers available. If he is prioritizing competing for a Super Bowl, joining Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs might be the best move he can make.

CBS Sports has listed Sanders as a potential fit for the Chiefs this offseason. It’s definitely something to keep an eye on.

And with Sammy Watkins’ expected departure, the Chiefs will likely add multiple receivers to the roster over the next two months. Sanders would provide a veteran receiver for Patrick Mahomes.

During the 2019 season split between the Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers, Sanders caught 66 passes for 869 yards and five touchdowns. Those numbers show why the Chiefs should look into signing him.

After winning Super Bowl 54, the Chiefs would be wise to do everything in their power to stay at the top. Sanders could certainly help with that.

Spotrac.com has Sanders’ market value placed at around $10 million per years. Kansas City is projected to have around $16 million in cap room. Sanders would take up the majority of that.

Expect to hear plenty more rumors about the Chiefs and their offseason plans. Sanders could very well be a part of those plans.
