Colts: 3 numbers for DeForest Buckner to target in 2020

2 forced fumbles

While Buckner has proven he can be a formidable run defender, he’s also wreaked havoc as a pass rusher in the interior. Though, unlike most edge rushers, Buckner hasn’t had as many opportunities to strip the ball from the opposing quarterback.

In his four seasons in San Francisco, Buckner combined to force just three fumbles. Just this past season alone, the former No. 7 pick of the 49ers was able to record a career-high two forced fumbles.

There’s no doubt that the Colts wanted to add Buckner to their defensive front for him to add some firepower to their pass-rushing unit. Given that, Buckner should have his sights on matching the number of forced fumbles he had in 2019, by forcing another two fumbles in 2020.
