Colts: 3 numbers for DeForest Buckner to target in 2020

10 sacks

Without a doubt, Aaron Donald is the best interior defender and arguably the best player in the entire NFL. Besides Donald — and possibly Fletcher Cox, along with Chris Jones — Buckner may be the best pass-rushing interior defender in the NFL.

Throughout his four years in San Francisco, Buckner has racked up 28.5 sacks, with 19.5 of them coming in just the past two seasons. Given his uncanny ability to create pressure from the interior thus far in his career, Buckner will be expected to do the same with the Colts.

While he won’t have the same level of talent alongside him in Indianapolis as he did in San Francisco, Buckner should continue finding ways to contribute sacks. It doesn’t hurt to have talented players like Darius Leonard and Justin Houston as his teammates with the Colts. With that being said, the interior sack artist could total 10 or more sacks for the second time in his career in 2020.
