The Atlanta Falcons had an aggressive offseason as they look to get back into contention in the crowded NFC. After missing the playoffs in 2019, the Falcons still feel confident that they can make a run with the moves they made. One of those moves was signing star running back Todd Gurley following his release from the Los Angeles Rams.

While there are some concerns about Gurley’s health and whether or not his knee will allow him to play at a high level again, the Falcons feel that the move will pay off big time.

Last season with the Rams, Gurley had a very inconsistent role. He showed flashes of big production, but also looked a bit worn down at times. Atlanta is hoping that they can get him back on track with a more consistent role.

Gurley carried the football 223 times for 857 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2019. He also caught 31 passes for 207 yards and another two scores. Those numbers may not look huge, but they showed that he can still be very productive.

Looking ahead to the upcoming 2020 NFL season, let’s take a look at three ways Gurley will impact the Falcons’ offense.
