Atlanta Falcons: 5 Takeaways from Week 1 Loss vs. Eagles

At long last! The wait for the NFL regular season has finally come to an end. The reward for the long wait was a Thursday night matchup between the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons.

But was it really a reward?

The game wasn’t exactly a highlight fest. In fact, the entire first half was relatively boring. I wouldn’t have blamed anyone if they ended up flipping channels at one point. It wasn’t until the fourth quarter that the game started to produce some real excitement. From the Atlanta Falcons’ standpoint, the game started off perfect.

Julio Jones reminded all of us that he’s still one of the best wide receivers in the league on the very first drive. However, his efforts were all for nothing on that drive, since Atlanta couldn’t come out with points. Jones exploding on that drive is just one of the takeaways for the Falcons in this game.

With that said, here are the five takeaways for the Atlanta Falcons from last nights 18-12 loss.
