This past decade, we saw rookie wideouts take the league by storm. Now, it’s almost expected that even in year one, wideouts need to have an immediate impact on their respective offenses.
This year’s crop of rookie wideouts is considered by many as the most talented wideout group we’ve seen in quite some time. There isn’t much of a discrepancy in talent among the 8-10 best rookie wideouts entering this year, but not all of them will have profound impacts in year one.
For most, it’s due to the situation they’ve been drafted into. CeeDee Lamb, for example, will join an already loaded wide receiver group with the Dallas Cowboys. With an established No. 1 wideout on the roster, Lamb probably won’t see as many targets as some of the other rookie wideouts, meaning his fantasy impact won’t be as great. Even though Lamb is arguably the most talented wideout from this year’s draft class.
