QBs to Start in Week 16
Seahawks’ Russell Wilson (vs. Chiefs): Russell Wilson has quietly been one of the best fantasy quarterbacks this season. Wilson’s ability to make plays with his legs makes him a great choice for fantasy football. In five out of his last seven games, he’s run it five times or more. In Week 16, Wilson faces the Kansas City Chiefs, who have allowed 18 or more points to QBs in all but four games this year.
Cowboys’ Dak Prescott (vs. Buccaneers): Dak Prescott had his worst week since Amari Cooper joined the team in Week 9. The Dallas Cowboys offensive line was beaten up and the Indianapolis Colts had their way—pressuring him all game. This week he should get back on track against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense, who have allowed 30 touchdowns to QBs this season (tied for second-most in NFL).
Browns’ Baker Mayfield (vs. Bengals): Baker Mayfield has been phenomenal this season in his rookie year. Mayfield has thrown a touchdown in every game since Week 4. He should continue his success against a depleted Cincinnati Bengals defense. The Bengals allow 21.2 fantasy points per game to opposing QBs this season (tied for most in the NFL).
Other QBs I Like: Steelers’ Ben Roethlisberger (vs. Saints), Bills’ Josh Allen (vs. Patriots), Bears’ Mitchell Trubisky (vs. 49ers)
QBs to Sit in Week 16
49ers’ Nick Mullens (vs. Bears): Nick Mullens has been a pleasant surprise for the San Francisco 49ers in recent weeks. Mullens replaced C.J. Beathard as the starting QB, following the injury to Jimmy Garoppolo. In six starts, Mullens has scored 18 or more points in three games. In Week 16, he squares off against a stingy Chicago Bears defense. The Bears have 26 interceptions this year (the most in the NFL).
Buccaneers’ Jameis Winston (vs. Cowboys): Jameis Winston was a viable fantasy QB for a few weeks before Week 15. In Week 15, Winston posted just 4.3 points against the Baltimore Ravens. Winston is a hard QB to gauge week-to-week. In Week 16, I’d avoid him against a tough Cowboys defense, who has allowed an average of just 13 points per game to QBs since Week 11.
