Jacksonville Jaguars: 3 Takeaways from Jalen Ramsey’s GQ Interview

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ Jalen Ramsey was selected to his first Pro Bowl last season. This year, he’s making more headlines off the field.

As if his recent spat with the media wasn’t enough, Ramsey recently shared his thoughts on several fellow NFL players in a GQ magazine piece that was released Wednesday.

Never one to keep his feelings hidden, the 23-year-old opened up about which quarterbacks he likes and doesn’t. He also discussed the Jaguars’ successful 2017 season and where his unapologetic attitude comes from.

Ramsey is unquestionably one of the elite defensive players in the NFL. But he’s also one of the league’s premier trash talkers. Unfortunately, his mouth is what earned him a one-week suspension that ends Monday.

Ramsey’s comments in GQ won’t earn him a suspension, but they will give opposing teams plenty of bulletin board material. It’s probably best not to talk about teams you’ll be playing against in a matter of months (or weeks, in some cases), but that’s obviously a belief the brash young cornerback doesn’t subscribe to.

If nothing else, Ramsey is 100 percent honest. So I guess that’s one trait that’s to be respected. But he has certainly made a habit of making enemies lately.

There are a lot of different angles one could take with Ramsey’s remarks in GQ, but a few things stood out to me. Among them, the comments he made about some of the NFL’s most notable quarterbacks.

Here are three takeaways from Ramsey’s interview with GQ.
