2. Jimmy Garoppolo
A lot of fans and analysts around the league peg Jimmy G for the 49ers loss in this year’s Super Bowl. He didn’t have his best performance, throwing two interceptions and missing some passes at some very inopportune times.
But, we can’t let one game overshadow what Garoppolo accomplished throughout the entire season. He was a great fit in Kyle Shanahan’s system and proved to be one of the missing pieces to the puzzle, as the team finished with one of the worst records in football the year before when Garoppolo was out of the lineup with an injury.
While Jimmy G did take some unwarranted risks last season, throwing 13 interceptions, he was still quite efficient with his passing. He completed 69.1 percent of his passes, good for fourth in the league.
Garappolo isn’t the flashiest quarterback in football, but he’s clearly capable of leading a team to the promised land, he just needs to finish the job next time.
