The Las Vegas Raiders ended up getting a major steal when they drafted running back Josh Jacobs with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Quite a few teams liked Jacobs, but no one thought he would become a star as quickly as he did.
During his rookie season, Jacobs proved all the teams who passed on him wrong. He also proved that he is primed to be the long-term running back for the Raiders. Jacobs has true superstar potential for the future.
Jacobs ended up carrying the football 242 times for 1,150 yards and seven touchdowns in his rookie year. He also caught 20 passes for 166 yards on the year.
Looking ahead to the upcoming 2020 NFL season, the Raiders are hoping to take a big step forward and compete for a playoff spot. Winning the AFC West is likely not going to happen with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs at the top. However, a Wild Card spot could be a possibility.
All of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at what the Raiders should be expecting from Josh Jacobs in his second season.
