2. Carson Wentz
The incredible performance Carson Wentz put together throughout the 2017 season landed him in the MVP conversation. He has failed to get back to that level of play but continues to be an effective quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Wentz managed to appear in all 16 regular season games in 2019 and did so for the first time since his rookie campaign. He completed 63.9 percent of his pass attempts for 3,049 yards, 27 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
There was effort from the Eagles to improve on offense even after they made various defensive upgrades. A crippling lack of wide receiver production was a real problem for Philadelphia last season but adding Jalen Reagor from the NFL Draft should certainly help.
It doesn’t seem likely that Wentz will end up having a better season than Dak Prescott in 2020 given the circumstances. Unless an unforeseen leap comes from Dwayne Haskins or Daniels Jones, Wentz should comfortably hold the No. 2 spot in the NFC East quarterback rankings.
