Ranking the top 3 free agency targets for the Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions are gearing up for a pivotal offseason as free agency nears. Following another disappointing season in 2019, the Lions have chosen to retain Matt Patricia at head coach and Bob Quinn at general manager for another year.

As Patricia and Quinn enter their third offseason together, the outcome of this offseason could determine how the 2020 season is going to go. Therefore, it is crucial for the Lions to address the holes on the roster in free agency and in the 2020 NFL Draft.

With Matthew Stafford returning from a back injury next season, the offense isn’t the overlying issue in Detroit. Even though Patricia is considered a defensive-oriented coach, the defense was extremely lackluster in 2019.

Considering that, Detroit could have their sights set on adding some help on the defensive side of the ball in free agency. With that in mind, here are three free agents that the Lions should target in the coming weeks.
