After denying they wanted to deal pass rusher Yannick Ngakoue for months, it seems the Jacksonville Jaguars have finally named their price tag for the stud defensive end.
According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, the Jaguars have started fielding calls for Ngakoue and teams will reportedly need to offer a first round pick plus more to pry him away from Jacksonville.
For as productive as Ngakoue has been for the Jaguars defense, expecting multiple high picks for his services doesn’t sound that outlandish on Jacksonville’s end. He’s tallied at least eight sacks in each year he’s been in the NFL and has earned one Pro Bowl selection.
It appears the Jaguars are looking to get a similar return on Ngakoue as they got with the Jalen Ramsey trade. The Jaguars landed two first-rounders as well as third-rounder from the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for Ramsey.
While that likely won’t be the amount they end up getting for Ngakoue, the front office will probably start with a similar price when they enter negotiations.
The long awaited Ngakoue trade may finally be on the horizon. Developments are sure to come to the forefront in the coming days.
