Saints QB Drew Brees predicts Tom Brady re-signs with Patriots

During a recent appearance on WEEI’s ‘The Greg Hill Show’, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees expressed his belief that Tom Brady will return to the New England Patriots in free agency.

When asked about Brady’s upcoming free agency, Brees made it clear that while he can’t speak for Brady he doesn’t see him ‘going anywhere.’

“I love Tom Brady,” Brees said. “I feel the way everybody else feels about Tom Brady. He’s a legend and I don’t see him going anywhere. But, then again I can’t speak for him or anybody else.”

Brees was able to speak from experience as a quarterback playing towards the end of his NFL career that the focus is on winning. He doesn’t believe the focus for Brady will be about money. Instead, it will be on which team will maximize his chances of winning another championship.

“Well, I can’t speak for Tom, but I know for me being at this stage of my career, I just want to win. I just want to win,” he said. “I think Tom has been a guy who has kind of been a model for all of us for a lot of years. I don’t think any of this is about money for Tom. I think it is about wining another championship. I also think it is probably about feeling he’s in a situation where he has all the pieces in place to do that.

There has been no shortage of rumors involving Brady and quite frankly, some of them have made no sense. While the Patriots could use some more offensive firepower, they have proven time after time that their system is a great fit for Brady’s skill-set and it leads to success.

A lot of NFL free agency dominos will fall after Tom Brady makes his decisions regarding whether he will stay or leave the Patriots. One of the few things already known though is that Drew Brees is returning to the Saints. The rest remains to be seen.
