REPORT: Seahawks are a potential landing spot for Todd Gurley

The Seattle Seahawks may seem set at running back with Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny at running back, but they may have interest in an upgrade. Todd Gurley was released by the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday afternoon and could be a potential target for the Seahawks in free agency.

According to a report from Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Seahawks are one of the top potential landing spots for Gurley this offseason.

Gurley would be a huge addition for the Seahawks. He may have had a down season in 2019, but there are reasons for that. A big part of his struggles had to do with the fact that he never received a consistent role from the Rams.

During the 2019 season with Los Angeles, Gurley ended up carrying the football 223 times for 857 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also caught 31 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns. Obviously, Gurley is still capable of being a major impact player for anyone who decides to pick him up.

At just 25 years old, Gurley is going to be a hot commodity on the open market. The Seahawks would make some sense, as Pete Carroll is always looking to add more star power. Seattle would find a great role for Gurley within their offense.

The Seahawks finished the 2019 NFL season at 11-5 and beat the Philadelphia Eagles in their Wild Card matchup. Unfortunately, they fell to the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round.

While Gurley may not be the elite superstar that he once was, he would have a massive impact on the Seattle offense. His presence would help take pressure off of Seahawks’ star quarterback Russell Wilson.

Expect to hear more news and rumors about Todd Gurley in the coming hours. He will have quite a few options to choose from and the Seahawks are likely going to be one of them.
