Pros
Although the team has Graham under contract for one more year, Green Bay can cut Graham before the start of OTAs to minimize the cap hit. They’d only suffer a $3.6 in dead cap and they’ll free up about $8 million by cutting him before Spring workouts.
All signs are pointing towards a divorce between Graham and Green Bay, which would open the door for an Austin Hooper signing.
Hooper is a clear upgrade over Graham and he’s just beginning to enter his prime years, whereas Graham’s best football is behind him. The Falcons tight end earned his second straight Pro Bowl nod last season, posting career highs in catches, receiving touchdowns and receiving yards.
Green Bay’s offense became very predictable at time last season, mostly due to the fact that they only had one elite play maker at Rodgers’ disposal, wideout DaVante Adams. Giving Rodgers another formidable weapon should be a top priority for the Packers this offseason.
