Tom Brady made the shocking decision to leave the New England Patriots this offseason in free agency. An even more shocking aspect to him leaving his longtime team is the fact that he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fans could not be more excited about his decision to sign with the Buccaneers. The move has completely shaken up the landscape of the NFL.

Following his decision to sign with Tampa Bay, Brady only had one request. He didn’t want control or a say in roster moves or the offensive game plan. All he wanted was the phone number of every new teammate on the Buccaneers.

In fact, there was only one request Brady had after he had signed: He wanted the phone numbers of all his new Bucs teammates.

Leadership is one of the main qualities that people think of when talking about Brady. The fact that he wanted to be in immediate contact with his teammates speaks to that value. Brady is going to get acquainted with his new teammates as quickly as possible so everyone can get to work together.

Critics have been calling Brady “washed up” and “regressing” over the last couple of years. Last season, Brady completed 60.8 percent of his pass attempts for 4,057 yards, 24 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He may not have had great numbers, but he also didn’t have great targets.

The Buccaneers can offer Brady elite weapons in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. They still need to find a running back, but they have an offense in place capable of being great.

Brady is going to look to prove that he was not a system quarterback in New England with Bill Belichick. He is taking on a massive challenge, but he could not be more excited about facing that challenge.
