Washington Redskins: 3 Takeaways From Week 7 Win vs. Cowboys

The Redskins survived in the last seconds to finally beat their arch rival the Dallas Cowboys 20-17. This can all be attributed to a snap infraction. A weird rarely called penalty caused Dallas kicker Brett Maher to miss a game-tying field goal with three seconds left in the game.

In a defensive slugfest, Washington was able to control the tempo with ageless running back Adrian Peterson and much-needed help from their reserves. Also, their defense completely shut down Dallas’ prolific offense for most of the contest.

For Washington, this is a big win for them as they finally won consecutive games for the first time this season. More importantly, sole possession of first place in the NFC East. Washington now has a five-game slate where they can quickly build on their momentum this season.
