Why Leonard Floyd is a good free-agent signing for the Rams

The Los Angeles Rams were relatively quiet on the first two days of the legal tampering period, causing some concern among fans. However, on Wednesday, the Rams made a few moves that are vital for next season — including the signing of Leonard Floyd.

Prior to signing Floyd, Dante Fowler chose to walk in free agency, signing with the Atlanta Falcons for $48 million over three years. Fowler tallied a career-high 11.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in his first full season with the Rams in 2019.

In his previous three seasons, Fowler had a grand total of 16 sacks to his name. Now, the Rams are hoping that Floyd can follow in Fowler’s footsteps in 2020.

After signing Floyd to a one-year, $10 million contract, Los Angeles figures to have him become an immediate fixture on the defense. With that in mind, here is why Floyd is a good free-agent signing for the Rams.
