1 Intriguing Blockbuster Trade Idea Between Packers, Broncos

The Green Bay Packers are taking a major risk with the current state of their offense. Outside of running back Aaron Jones, every skill position player that is projected to be a starter or regular in the lineup has three or fewer years of experience heading into the 2023 season.

On top of that, quarterback Jordan Love is taking over as the starter for the first time in his career. He is tasked with replacing the legendary Aaron Rodgers, who was traded to the New York Jets.

It would not be surprising if the Packers sought out some more experienced options offensively, especially at the wide receiver spot. There isn’t a single player on the roster currently with more than one season of NFL experience. To help take some pressure off of Love, that is something they should consider changing.

Where could the Packers look to find an upgrade? Free agency doesn’t have many options, but the trade market could provide an intriguing one. A player that would certainly pique their interest is Jerry Jeudy of the Denver Broncos.

A 2020 first-round pick, Jeudy has been the subject of trade rumors for the majority of the offseason. While new head coach Sean Payton has said that no changes will come at wide receiver for the Broncos, their offseason moves say differently.

A draft pick was used on Marvin Mims Jr. and Marquez Callaway, who played under Payton with the New Orleans Saints, was signed in free agency. With Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, KJ Hamler and Tim Patrick all on the roster, something likely has to give.

The Packers could try and make an aggressive offer for Jeudy and see what the Broncos say. What could a trade between the teams look like? Green Bay could offer a second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and a fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

While Jeudy has upside, he has not fulfilled it yet, at least consistently, in the NFL. The Broncos want a first-round pick in exchange for him but that isn’t a price any team is going to meet, especially when taking into consideration some of the injury concerns he has.

Getting a second and fifth-round pick is good value and provides the Broncos with a chance to restock their war chest. They have traded away a ton of draft capital the last two offseason acquiring Russell Wilson and Payton.

For the Packers, Jeudy has a skill set that would mesh well with Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs atop the depth chart. He is a tactician when it comes to route running, possessing the skill set to play out on the boundary or out of the slot.

Entering Year 4, Jeudy isn’t old by any stretch of the imagination. But, for as inexperienced of a group as the Packers have, he would bring some much-needed leadership and veteran know-how to the wide receiver position.
