2 free agents the Carolina Panthers must stay away from

The Carolina Panthers are entering a new regime under Matt Rhule and are set up to have an active offseason. The entire outlook of the organization’s future is reliant upon whether or not they choose to bring back Cam Newton.

Despite being under contract, it remains to be seen if the Panthers keep him on the roster. By trading or releasing Newton, Carolina can free up an extra $19.1 million in cap space this offseason.

Before making any roster moves, the Panthers currently have $32 million in cap space, according to Spotrac. Aside from the quarterback position, Carolina could be looking to improve their roster in free agency.

However, Carolina needs to be careful about who they spend their remaining cap space on. In light of that, here are two free agents the Panthers must stay away from this offseason.
