Prior to the beginning of free agency, it’s well-known that Jimmy Graham’s days in Green Bay are numbered. The Packers can create an extra $8 million in cap savings if they released Graham.

Once they part ways with Graham, that would leave Jace Sternberger and Robert Tonyan as the only tight ends on the roster. Given that, the Packers could scour the free-agent market for a replacement for Graham.

Among the notable names, both Austin Hooper and Hunter Henry could be viable options in free agency. Of the two, Henry would be a risky option for the Packers.

In his first four seasons in the NFL, Henry has been unable to play in all 16 games for the Los Angeles Chargers.

On the other hand, Henry is coming off of the best season of his career in 2019. The former second-round pick recorded a career-high 55 receptions for 652 yards and five touchdowns.

With the current climate of the NFL, Henry could be on track to become a an expensive candidate in free agency. Due to his injury concerns, Green Bay should avoid making Henry one of the highest-paid tight ends in the NFL.
