2 free agents the Indianapolis Colts should avoid this offseason

A.J. Green

Throughout the 2019 season, the Colts were riddled with injuries at the wide receiver position. Even with T.Y. Hilton leading the pack and Parris Campbell entering his second season, Indianapolis desperately needs another receiver in the offense.

Considering their need at wide receiver, A.J. Green could be on the Colts’ radar in free agency. Green has spent nine seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals and is an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

In recent seasons, Green has dealt with multiple injuries with the Bengals. Most recently, he was sidelined for the entire 2019 season due to an ankle ailment. While Green is a talented receiver — when he’s healthy — he isn’t worth the risk for the Colts.

Instead of signing a veteran wideout, the Colts should add a receiver in this year’s draft. It is well-documented how deep this year’s group of wide receivers are. Even though Indianapolis has the required cap space to sign him, Green should be a free agent that they don’t express interest in.
