1. Higgins can stretch the field vertically
Sometimes, when a wide receiver is 6-foot-4 or above, they could be labeled as a possession receiver. However, Higgins is the opposite of that as he’s dangerous with the ball in his hands.
At Clemson, Higgins hauled in 135 receptions for an average of 18.1 yards per reception and scored 27 touchdowns. Adding another vertical threat in the offense outside of Brown would be optimal for Allen under center.
Of course, Allen has a strong arm and he isn’t afraid to take shots down the field. Even though Allen thrives at deep passes, the Bills ranked 22nd in the NFL in yards per pass attempt.
As a result, drafting Higgins would give Buffalo another player that can take the top off of a defense. A wide receiver trio of Brown, Beasley, and Higgins would be a dream scenario for the Bills.
