They Have More Than Enough Cap Space to Sign Beasley
According to Over The Cap, the Dolphins will have roughly $89 million in cap space to play around with this offseason. That’s more than enough to lure Beasley to South Beach.
Beasley will likely slot in somewhere in the 12-15 range when it comes to highest paid defensive ends, meaning he’ll sign for approximately $9-$11 million per year. That’s certainly an affordable cost for Miami.
They could even throw him a bigger, more lucrative contract if they really wanted to bring him in. Acquiring pass rushers will surely be one of the Dolphins main objectives this offseason, so there’s no reason to think they won’t overpay for Beasley if it comes down to a bidding war.
With the excess of cap at Miami’s disposal, expect them to be heavy spenders in free agency, especially at the defensive end position.
