The Panthers Desperately Need A Change At Quarterback

Yes, there are a lot of fans who would welcome Cam Newton back with open arms should the team decide to give him one more year. However, that would be a wasted year for the franchised. The Panthers need to move on.

Newton is no longer the superstar that he once was. He has been dealing with injuries nearly every season and has not even looked good when healthy.

Herbert would be the kind of change that could change everything for the Panthers. If he develops into his full potential, the Panthers could be looking at one of the next elite quarterbacks. Newton would be traded and given the opportunity to resurrect his career elsewhere.

Carolina cannot afford to hang on to what used to be. Newton has done a lot for the franchise, but it is simply time to move on with Rhule and a young quarterback like Herbert.
