The Green Bay Packers nearly made an unexpected Super Bowl run this season after missing the playoffs in each of the previous two campaigns. Matt LaFleur created a brand new culture for the proud franchise and things could not be looking brighter for the team moving forward.
While the season was a bit of a fairytale, they still were not able to get past the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game. Green Bay cannot be comfortable with the way things currently are. They must go into the offseason looking to make moves.
One major need for the Packers this offseason will be finding more wide receivers to go along with Davante Adams. Aaron Rodgers needs more weapons. That much was made clear this year.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling came into the 2019 season expected to have a major breakout year. Unfortunately, that did not end up happening.
When everything was said and done, Valdes-Scantling caught just 26 passes for 452 yards and two touchdowns. He did have some bright moments, including a 74-yard touchdown reception against the Denver Broncos. However, his lack of production has led many to believe that Green Bay could end up releasing him this offseason.
All of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at two huge reasons why the Packers should have faith in MVS and bring him back for another season.
I remember this not too long ago. Davonte Adams had just gone through a sophomore slump of a year and everyone was calling for his release as a bust. Maybe we should wait and see.
I dont think they should release him or several others,I think they need to shore up that line you give Rodgers a few more seconds he can start threading that needle.
Yes, It takes 2 full years to train 98% of all WRs. Year 3 is it.
