2 players the Philadelphia Eagles should try to trade for this offseason

Aside from wide receiver, it was also obvious that the Eagles lacked reliability in the secondary. In the lead up to the 2019 trade deadline, most believed that Philadelphia was going to make a much-needed move at cornerback.

Instead, they chose to stay pat while Ronald Darby and Rasul Douglas held prominent roles in the defense. In light of that, Darius Slay should be a player on the Eagles’ radar this offseason.

Recently, it was reported that the Detroit Lions have already spoken to teams about trading Slay. The Eagles shouldn’t waste any time calling the Lions to discover what is needed to land the All-Pro cornerback.

Since 2014, Slay has been one of the most productive corners in the NFL with 19 interceptions and 99 deflections in that six-year span. One of the biggest issues for Slay seems to be that he doesn’t feel appreciated in Detroit.

There’s no doubt that the fans in Philadelphia would welcome Slay with open arms. Above all, the Eagles have enough cap space to sign Slay to an extension once he’s traded.
