2 players the San Francisco 49ers should trade up for in the 2020 NFL Draft

Another major need for the 49ers this offseason will be finding a safety. Jimmie Ward is likely going to end up leaving town, although he has been vocal about wanting to return. Unfortunately, money could very well become an issue in contract talks between the two parties.

Grant Delpit would be exactly the kind of player the 49ers need to bring in to replace Ward. He racked up 65 total tackles to go along with two sacks, one forced fumble, two interceptions, and seven defended passes in 2019. Back in 2018, Delpit flashed even bigger numbers with 74 tackles, five sacks, one forced fumbles, five interceptions, and nine defended passes.

San Francisco would be wise to look into moving up to the No. 16 to No. 22 pick area if Delpit is available. He would bring playmaking on a cheap contract to the team.

Lynch needs to be aggressive. The window is open for the 49ers to win a Super Bowl. It’s time to go all out and be willing to spend draft capital to win now and Delpit could help that cause.
