2 players the Washington Redskins should attempt to trade for

Stefon Diggs

The Minnesota Vikings are going to need to make quite a few roster moves to free up some cap space this offseason. As of now, the Vikings have -$12.3 million in cap space just a month before free agency begins, per Spotrac.

Near the beginning of the 2019 season, Stefon Diggs shared his frustration with his role in Minnesota’s offense. Following his comments, some believed that Diggs could be shipped elsewhere.

Despite the Vikings being adamant about keeping him, that doesn’t mean that Diggs is content with his current status with the team. Diggs, a Maryland native, grew up nearly a half-hour away from the nation’s capital.

Therefore, Diggs could be open to being traded to a team that is building a winning culture and is near his hometown of Gaithersburg, Maryland. The Redskins aren’t going to find many receivers better than Diggs in free agency or in the draft.

One of the only things that could hold up a trade for Diggs is that he is entering just the second year of his five-year, $72 million extension he signed in 2018. With that being said, the Redskins likely wouldn’t have an issue paying a receiver of Diggs’ caliber the remaining $45.1 million in salary he is owed on his current deal.
