Would help replace Robby Anderson’s production

With 26-year-old Robby Anderson set to become an unrestricted free agent, New York will likely add multiple wideouts to help mediate some of Anderson’s lost production.

Funchess does not possess the speed that Anderson does, but standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing in at 225 pounds, Funchess would be a great red zone target for Darnold and someone who he can throw jump balls to down the sideline.

While most would consider Anderson a much more prominent deep threat than Funchess, the numbers don’t necessarily agree. Throughout his career, Anderson has averaged 14.8 yards per reception, whereas Funchess has averaged 13.8.

They both have the ability to go deep, Funchess just uses his stature rather than his speed to make plays.

He may not be able to do everything Anderson does on the football field, but he also bring his own unique element and would be a very solid weapon for Darnold to play with.
