2 reasons Kenyan Drake could be a sneaky free agency target for the Texans

Drake would be a cheaper option than the top-tier names in free agency

Besides Drake, there are going to multiple marquee names that could be looking to find a new team in free agency. Just to name a few, Derrick Henry, Melvin Gordon, and Jordan Howard could be putting on new uniforms in 2020.

Of course, Henry would be the most coveted option in free agency if the Tennessee Titans choose to let him test the open market. At the same time, he and Gordon figure to be looking for expensive contracts from whichever team they sign with.

Instead of paying more than $10 million annually on a running back, the Texans could add Drake to their backfield. Albeit, Drake’s status in free agency is dependent upon whether or not the Arizona Cardinals attempt to retain him.

If the Cardinals decide to go in a different direction, then Drake would become a cost-effective option at running back. Plus, he’s only 26-years-old and doesn’t have much tread on his tires.
