In honor of the Oscars on Sunday night, the award for most injuries in the 2019 season goes to (drumroll please), the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite being plagued by injuries, the Eagles still managed to outplay the Dallas Cowboys and win the NFC East.
However, in the playoffs, Philadelphia’s injury woes continued as Carson Wentz left in the Wild Card game with a concussion. Heading into next season, it’s all about surrounding him with better weapons.
At the beginning of the 2019 season, Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson, and Nelson Agholor would be the starting receivers. Then, the injury bug would infect the receiving corps, causing those three guys to miss 24 games altogether.
As a result, Greg Ward, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, and Deontay Burnett would end the year as the starting wideouts for the Eagles. Even Zach Ertz would be hindered by injuries in the offense.
Seeing that Agholor is likely leaving in free agency, Philadelphia needs to address the receiver position in the 2020 NFL Draft. With that in mind, here are two huge reasons why the Eagles should be targeting Leviska Shenault.
