Brandon Ayiuk gets drafted in round one
The consensus doesn’t rank Ayiuk inside the top three wide receiver prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft, as Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb and Henry Ruggs III have all been penciled in at the top. However, Ayiuk has received immense recognition throughout the league for his ability after the catch.
Ayiuk ran a 4.50 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine but he plays much faster. His shiftiness also serves him well in the return game — recording an average of 31.9 yards per return in his final season at Arizona State.
Despite playing with true freshman quarterback Jayden Daniels, Ayiuk still remained on par — totaling 1,192 yards and eight touchdowns. Currently, he doesn’t quite project as a number one receiver in the NFL but at the very least he has the tools to be a quality number two.
He did undergo core muscle surgery this offseason, forcing him to sit out of the Reese’s Senior Bowl but after his showing at the NFL Scouting Combine, Ayiuk has shown he’s recovered from the injury.
